Student Niner Media won 12 awards, including two first place prizes, at the annual Associated Collegiate Press-College Media Association Fall National College Media Convention from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2 in Atlanta.

Bryson Foster won first place for best sports feature in CMA’s Pinnacle Awards for The Man Who Motivated Michael Jordan. Tiana Cohen (pictured above) of Midas magazine won a first place Pinnacle Award for best entertainment spread for The Charlotte Mural Walk.

Other Pinnacle Winners:

CMA is the nation’s largest organization representing student media outlets from across the country. CMA’s Pinnacle Awards, along with ACP’s Pacemaker and Best in Show Awards (honoring entries from conference attendees), recognize media organizations and individual work, all done by students.

Four students and two advisers attended the annual five-day fall conference, attending sessions by student journalists, advisers and media professionals. Highlighting this year’s conference were guest speakers Charles Blow (New York Times columnist), Leroy Chapman (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Editor-in-Chief), George Chidi (Atlanta politics and crime reporter) and Monica Pearson (longtime Atlanta TV anchor).
